A night in the igloo at 1,900 m, your own jump off the ramp the next day: our partner ICO Oberstdorf runs a ski jumping workshop for everyone at the ORLEN Arena, where the Four Hills Tournament opens every year. Mental coach Peter Tümmers and his daughter Lena, a former youth champion of SC Oberstdorf, guide you step by step to your first jump. Short on time? The Ski Jumper Feeling takes you up the large hill to the start bar in about 1.5 hours – no ski skills needed.
Important: the workshop always takes place after your overnight stay, never before – it lasts all day, and on arrival day we meet at the Iglu Lodge in the afternoon. The Ski Jumper Feeling only takes about 1.5 hours and also works on arrival day before the igloo night, or on the morning after.
You stay at the Iglu Lodge the night before the workshop. In the morning, after breakfast, you ride the Nebelhornbahn down to the valley and on to the ORLEN Arena, where the basic course starts at 9:30 at the main entrance. The arena is in Oberstdorf, not far from the Nebelhornbahn valley station.
You book the igloo night with us; registration for the workshop is directly with ICO. In the “Comments” field, mention that you are staying at the Iglu Lodge the night before.
The matching igloo night is shown in brackets for each workshop date.

First dry, then on skis: after a safety briefing, warm-up and coordination exercises you practise the in-run crouch and take-off standing and on a gentle slope. After first test runs in the outrun you make your first real jump from the HS25 youth ski jump. Particularly talented participants may move up to the HS42.

Experience what others only watch on TV: on a guided tour of the Four Hills Tournament stadium you learn about distances, speeds, spectator capacity and training methods. Then, well secured, you climb the in-run of the large hill, touch the ceramic track and feel the steepness. The highlight: wearing original jumping skis, you take a seat on the start bar of the competition hill – and of course get a souvenir photo.
The Ski Jumper Feeling is bookable all year round by arrangement – before or after your igloo night. On arrival day, plan it so that you are finished by 14:30 at the latest, as we meet at Höfatsblick at 16:00. Or do it the morning after: after breakfast down to the valley and on to the ORLEN Arena. Enquiries go directly to ICO; please mention your igloo night date.
